FBA Junior Development Programme

Starting in Term 3 2023, the Junior Development Program focuses on the holistic development of our U12 & U14 age groups (formally U11/U13).

 

In 2022, FBA moved away from the tradition "representative" model for this age group. Rather than the traditional model of selecting the best and deselecting the rest, we are operating under the development philosophy of "as many as possible for as long as possible".

 

There are no trials for the U12/U14 age groups which means registrations are open to any players who are wanting to develop further as players! Players will work with FBA best development coaches and will be introduced to new team concepts, individual skill development and other personal development opportunities.

 

FBA Junior Development program includes:

  • x13 1hr30 training sessions (Mondays Starting July 17th)

  • x4 Game nights (Thursday: August 24th, September 7th, 14th, 21st)

  • SuperCity Competition games (Dates & times TBD) based in Auckland

 

TRAINING TIMES: MONDAY STARTING JULY 17TH

U12 BOYS: 5:00-6:30PM - Court 1 & 2

U12 GIRLS: 5:00-6:30PM - Court 3

U14 BOYS: 6:30-8:00PM - Court 1 & 2

U14 GIRLS: 6:30-8:00PM - Court 3

 

Total cost of the program is $200.00, initial registration fee to sign up is $50.00 deposit.

U14 Teams will also be entered into the U14 Regionals Tournament (October 4-8th) which is an additional $100.00 this will be invoiced at a later date.

 

Monday July 17th

The first session of the program will serve as an induction night. Players will be on court as per- usual doing various activities with coaches. All parents/care givers will be required to attend a mandatory hui to discuss the program along with participating in an FBA 'Good sports' education session.
