Our Secondary Schools Competition wrapped up in August after a big 12 weeks of competition! Big thank you to all the Schools Sport Coordinators for their hard work over the season.

Winter Tournament Week

Following on from a successful Franklin Zone season, some of the local High School teams competed during Winter Tournament Week last week at with the Junior Premiership Zone 1, Northern Cup & AA Zone 1 Premiership. Well done to all teams that participated in these tournaments!

Congratulations to Pukekohe High School Senior Boys Prem team who have qualified for the first time for Secondary School Nationals.


They are heading to Palmerston North in the holidays to compete with the NZ's best High School Basketball teams!

Kiwi Hoops Referee Course

Franklin Basketball is offering two training courses for people who would like to become basketball referees.


Part One is aimed at not only anyone who is keen to begin refereeing but also any player, Coach, Manager or parent who wishes to learn more about the rules and the game.


Part Two is the practical aspects of Refereeing for those who want to begin their referee journey.

There is no cost for this training.


Beginner referees will be supported in an encouraging, protected manner and will have the opportunity to develop their skills and move through the basketball New Zealand refereeing pathway.


This course is being supported by Basketball NZ.

 

WE NEED YOU!

Calling all basketball enthusiasts of all ages, this tournament is not to be missed!

We're looking for a whole crew of passionate people to join our Franklin Basketball volunteer crew which are helping host the 2023 SAS Slam over Labour Weekend.


If you’re keen for experience in sports and events, if you’ve got a love for basketball, or you just want to be part of one of the most exciting tournaments in NZ sport… we want you!


This tournament is in its inaugural season and we're looking for a passionate group of people to join the SAS Slam & Franklin Basketball family to make this tournament experience unforgettable. If you're interested in volunteering, we have a number of roles to fill that require different skills. Register your details below and let us know if you're keen to join the most exciting sporting events in Auckland!


Where: Pulman Arena, 90 Walters Road, Takanini, Auckland 2112

When: Labour Weekend- Saturday 21st, Sunday 22nd & Monday 23rd October 2023

Our Beginner Programmes


7U Hoopsters is a programme designed to teach children the fundamental skills needed to successfully take part in basketball games, taught in a fun, relaxed environment. Once players are of 7 years old and have completed at least one term of our Hoopsters programme then they are able to move into one of our affiliated clubs.


This Programme will be on a Monday 3:50-4:45pm.


Cost: $100 per player + $25 AAA Fee.



Girls Got Game is a program that is open to girls of all abilities whether it is their first time picking up a basketball or whether they have been bouncing a ball since they were born. The main purpose is to bring girls together to learn, grow and play some basketball!


This Programme will be on a Wednesday 4:00-4:45pm.


Cost: FREE





Our Clubs Leagues

Junior Club League caters players aged 8-13 Years old, who would join one of our nine local Franklin Clubs and Trainings will be on a Tuesday and games played on a Friday.


Senior Club League will cater for players aged 14-17 Years old, who would join one of our nine local Franklin Clubs and Trainings will be on a Tuesday and games on a Wednesday. This League helps bridge the gap between our Junior League and our Mid Week Hoops Adult League.

Adults Leagues

Mid Week Hoops​ Mid Week Hoops is our adults social league which runs on a Wednesday night at Franklin Pool & Leisure.


Grades available are: Men's A, Men's B, Women's & Open Social


Cost: $90 per player + Annual Affiliation Fee.


​ We run MWH for 8 weeks a term, four terms a year! All games are supplied with referees and Glory League. Score bench is rostered through a rotation of all teams. Each team will score bench twice max a term.
