Over the weekend coaches, coordinators, board members & FBA staff participated in a “Good Sports” planing day co-facilitated by coach/player development officer Joe Reddish & Ben Wu from Aktive - Auckland Sport & Recreation.
During the workshop participants were introduced to Good Sports and taken through the theory/research behind it along with highlighting some key issues within our community. During the second part of the day we shifted our attention towards planing how we will introduce this to our community and have identified key areas of action. Over the next month FBA staff will be building a project plan for good sports with the focus of delivering this in Term 1 2023.
“Good Sports and Balance is Better is an important philosophy that Franklin Basketball fully endorse. For our community to get the most out of sports, especially at a young age, we need to get behind this and make the necessary changes. This will create better players, coaches, referees, parents and people for our community.” Jamie Reddish, General Manager of Franklin Basketball.
Big thank you to everyone who participated in this planing day and contributed to the further development of our great game. Special thanks to Franklin Bulls Basketball & A & K Thomson Limited for hosting us
